Again, sorry for posting this blog late. so week 7 is about technology. In Ms. Kerster classroom we use technology as a guide for the students to learn. We use projectors and laptops to let the students watch videos from different websites. In the library, they have a computer for the teachers to use.  The students will be given a card that has a barcode and a name on them. They use it to check out books. If the students didn’t bring their book back it will show in the computer and will not be able to check out any books unless they return it the next day/week. Also, Ms. Kerster print out templates for the students to play with. In her classroom, there is a play space where kindergartens do their play time. Ms. Kerster usually have a kitchen set up by the play space (more like a restaurant) She usually prints out certain templates for them and laminates them for next year. The printouts depends on the season they are in. For example, when it is fall, the play space will have print outs that matches the season and will have cinnamon and pumpkin printed out.

 

Can’t really get proper conversation with the students because they are only kindergartens and I don’t think they would know anything about technology yet. For the most part I just observe them on how my co-op teacher used it and how the students respond to it.
